My little girl attends the ballet school associated with the American Reperatory Ballet Company and was chosen to participate in this years performance of the Nutcracker. She was a little snowball in the frozen forest scene. She was so cute in her large pom pom costume that weighed almost as much as her!!! She is 54 lbs. and the costume was 28 lbs. She and the other snowballs were doing so well until the fake snow started to fall. The material must have been slippery because my daughter and a few of the other little girls slipped and fell. The round ball consumed their heads as they hit the floor which caused the audience to laugh. Kudos to the amazing ballerinas they made it look like it was supposed to happen and helped the little ones get up. I found out they didn't take a fall because their toe shoes are dipped in rosin to prevent slips. Because the little ones were wearing their flat slippers they were not protected. At least the rest of the performances will go well now that their shoes will be treated. Next year she wants to be a mouse.
